Diary review:
El dorado OG 2
Welcome to this first Diary Review!
Let start with this El Dorado OG from Paradise Seeds that grew in the Arcade Grow Box!
It mostly grew in a 60x60x80cm space.
Final yield was around 90g with a nice 45g bonus thanks to its clones.
This plant only received low stress training, with a little twist, it's actually planted from the side of the pot.
So basically the idea was to have it start horizontally, and then bend it around the pot to have a nice circle.
That was a fun experiment, will probably try it again, but with topping early on.
Let’s start the circle:)
So as you had noticed at he beginning, we got the plant going from the side of the pot.
The point is to have the plant horizontal by default.
So now we're going to bend everything, so that the main branches will make circle around the pot.
Removed some big leaves that we blocking the light after the bending.
Now that our branches have their new organization we can remove a few leaves that are now blocking the light.
Removed all the branches that are inside the turn, we’ll try to keep one branche per nodes, they will be cleanly organized laternon.
And as a last training step for today, we'll remove the branches that are growing inside the circle. They're not going to help here as this part will quickly get crowded by the rest.
So we can just remove them. But you should keep them! Checkout our cloning video.
Added another bending wire to bring the tip in circle. Also trimmed a few branches growing inside the circle.
So these bending & pruning sessions will repeat a few times as the plant grows.
You want to keep the main branches as horizontal as possible.
Also keep removing the smaller branches that are not growing in the right direction.
So basically all the small ones growing either toward the center of the circle, or downwards.
Removed just the few leaves blocking the light.
Don't hesitate to remove a few leaves blocking the light.
It's better to do multiple small defoliations than a big one.
Added two more wires to put those two big branches horizontally, so the full circle will actually be full earlier than expected.
It's growing nicely. The green of the leaves is neither too dark or too yellow.
Don't worry for the lower ones getting a bit yellow, those early leaves are meant to die early anyway.
Removed some of the big leaves covering the rest.
Aaaaand yet another small defoliation. This one was a bit more than just a few leaves, but the principle is the same, you want as much leaf surface to catch light, and avoid overlapping leaves as much as possible.
Removing those tiny growth at the bottom.
Let's keep cleaning those tiny useless branches.
I hesitated between cutting it or bending it, let’s bend it, there’s a free space next to it.
Look at your plant and ask yourself "is there a way to get more light exposition?".
And in this case it's a lot about finding gaps to fill with a branch.
